Well, today has been the end of an era for me and my friend michael as we said our goodbyes to our history teacher, Mr Bagnall. He gave us the best laughs at our time in Heworth Grange, every lunchtime when we would eat our lunch in his room, the room would be filled to the brim with laughter from his funny manerisms and the way he would insult us. We all knew he didn't mean it, infact it was funny. "You ghastly smelly child" and "This would never happen at the RGS, they are lovely pupils there" were commonplace when we were in the room but again we took it all in good humour. Even when we took us for history lessons, he had the entire class in stitches.
We went to that classroom, with the greggs sandwhich stickers on the wall, and sat down as Bagnall pottered around as per. He then sat with us and talked to us like old good friends, however the boyish insults did not by any means get held back! We were then joined by some of the upper 6th formers and we all just took the mick out of Bagnall, and the tables were turned for once! We all had a good laugh with him. It was then time for me and my friend to leave and we said our goodbyes to Peter Roy Bagnall and he wished us good luck for the future. He even promised us a meal and a drink one day next year.
The past few years have been good Royston, we will miss you :)
